About Our Founder

How a college football player discovered vintage clothing in 2023 and turned it into a full-time hustle.

2023.

Luke Manos was a collegiate linebacker with zero interest in fashion. Then his girlfriend Jayda took him thrifting, and something clicked.

He started seeing what most people walked past: band tees with history, jackets with character, pieces that told stories. Weekend trips to thrift stores turned into a full obsession. By 2020, he was reselling clothes and sneakers, curating vintage out of his college football house basement.

220 Thrift was born. The name comes from February 20th, the day Luke asked Jayda to be his girlfriend. Every piece he sources carries that same intention.

Years of Building

He spent years learning how to source, authenticate, and curate. Built relationships with customers one piece at a time. Grew the brand from basement drops to a full operation: online store, swap markets, and an appointment-only warehouse.

In six months during 2025, he took the Instagram from 1,000 to over 14,000 followers. Not through paid ads or gimmicks. Just consistent content and real connection with the community.

Back To San Diego

After his brother's stroke, Luke moved back to San Diego to help with his brother's business while continuing to grow 220. The mission didn't change: curate meaningful vintage, build authentic relationships, and create something that lasts.

He operates out of San Diego now, sourcing pieces from coast to coast and serving a community that spans generations. From high schoolers buying their first vintage tee to collectors who've been following since day one.
